What is GameComm? GameComm brings your computer game to life by integrating voice with instant messaging, file transferring, a bulletin board, and much more, into a single program. Using these features, you can handle all of your gaming business with one program instead of having to swap between several. This keeps you organized and allows you to focus on your game. Voice Communication GameComm's voice communication is unique. We have the clearest quality sound as well as the smallest delay between the time you talk and the time youre heard. Having developed our voice communication through UDP, not TCP, which has been used to develop other voice software, we were able to deliver our clearer, more efficient sound quality. Instant Messaging Need to leave someone a message, but theyre away so they wont hear what you have to say? No problem, because with GameComm you can simply send them a private text message, which they can read as soon as they return. Private messaging also allows you to send links to launchable web sites, which is easier than spelling out the address of a web site to someone over voice. Bulletin Board With the built-in bulletin board, people can post and reply to messages directly inside GameComm in an organized fashion. The bulletin board is great for leaving messages for people who are not currently connected to the server, making announcements for the entire server to see (see Broadcasting, as well), and posting topics for discussion. File Transfer System Need to send a picture or a document to a friend? You no longer have to switch programs to do so. GameComm includes simple file transfer, so that files can be sent to and from anyone connected to your server. The transfer is entirely person-to-person. Server Broadcast System Administrators can broadcast messages across the server to all people connected. Messages can be sent in both Text-to-Speech and in the form of instant messages. Instead of having to communicate your message to each individual person, you can use the Broadcast System to make announcements across channels, reaching everyone with far less hassle. Not just text can be used in broadcasting messages, but links to web sites as well. Public Chat Sometimes holding meetings in a text environment is easier than over voice. Therefore we have included a public chat that everyone on the server can participate in. The public chat is unmoderated, whereas in the private chat the creator has complete control. Private Chat Private Chat is the same as Public Chat, the difference being that in private chat the creator has control over the people invited. Also, the creator can kick people, set the chat subject, and give up control of the chat to another person if they have to leave or go idle. |
